Grocery List: Week 1

Grocery List for Week 1: Cheeseburger Soup, Burritos!, Breakfast Casserole, Chicken Yum Yum

Print this list. Cross out what you already have in your kitchen. Add other items for breakfast and lunches. Remember, Croc Pot cooking produces a lot of left overs! Go to the store and pick the stuff up before cooking day. I shop at WalMart usually (unfortunately.. haha) so I tried to order this list according to the store. Start in the produce end at the freezer.

Veggies:
Onion (a bag)
Potatoes
1 bag baby carrots
Celery
2 green peppers
Optional for burritos: lettuce, tomato
Jar of minced garlic OR a head of garlic

Meats:
Lean ground beef or turkey (I bought the biggest package)
2 lb beef roast or 2 lbs stew meat
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I had a whole chicken.. )
1 pkg bacon

Dairy/Fridge Section:
Shredded Cheddar Cheese (2 small bags or 1 large..)
Burrito Sized Tortillas
Skim Milk (or whatever you prefer)
18 Eggs (the recipe for the week takes 12 and you don’t want to be totally out of eggs..)
Butter (light margarine, or your preference)
8 oz Light Sour Cream

Spices:
Dried Basil
Dried Parsley
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Salt
Pepper
Cumin
Chili Powder
Dried Dill

Shelf Items:
1 small can green chilies
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
Salsa
1 can fat free refried beans or can of black beans (opt.)
Lipton Onion Soup Mix
Small bag of long grain white rice
2 cans of 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup (or the full fat stuff, your preference)
1 sm. can sliced black olives
2% small block velveeta

Frozen:
2 lb bag of shredded hash browns (I found like a 1 lb 10 oz bag, that’s what I’m using)

Non-Grocery:
Aluminum Foil, Freezer Gallon sized baggies

***Here's another tip. When you're at the grocery store, load the items onto the belt how you WANT them in your bags. Not all cashiers are that swift, and if you come home with canned goods in with your bread, I think it's partially your fault. Put them in the following groups in this order so stuff doesn't smash in your cart: cans, boxes, milk, fridge items, produce, bread, eggs. This will make putting away your groceries a breeze when you get home! :)
